Job Summary

The Welding Operations Specialist is a critical role within RailWorks Corporation, responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of mobile electric flash-butt welding machines. This position requires a high level of technical expertise, as well as excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate and maintain mobile electric flash-butt welding machines, ensuring optimal performance and safety.
  • Drive a welding truck (CDL required) to and from work locations, setting up the welding truck on the track as needed.
  • Perform Intrack Welding functions, including setting up and performing weld operations.
  • Conduct QA inspections and ensure compliance with company standards.
  • Supervise and lead a small group of technicians, providing guidance and support as needed.
  • Communicate effectively with customers and production teams, reporting status and progress in a timely and professional manner.
Requirements
  • Valid Class Driver's License and satisfactory driving record.
  • Basic computer skills and ability to read precision instruments and gauges.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills, with ability to communicate with all levels of employees and customers.
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions and lift up to 50 pounds.
  • High School Diploma/GED required.
Working Conditions
  • Works both indoors and outdoors, traveling to field locations to provide repairs or maintenance.
  • Frequently performs physical activities that require considerable use of the arms and legs, such as standing, lifting, walking, stooping, bending, reaching, and handling of materials, equipment, and tools.
  • Exposed to exhaust fumes, gasoline, and diesel fuel, as well as harsh weather conditions and loud noise.
