Bakery Assistant Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Bakery Assistant to join our team at Dawson City General Store Ltd. As a key member of our bakery team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, maintaining a clean and organized store environment, and assisting with the preparation and sale of baked goods.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide excellent customer service, responding to customer inquiries and resolving any issues in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Maintain a clean and organized store environment, including the bakery area, shelves, and display cases.
  • Assist with the preparation and sale of baked goods, including bagging, boxing, and pricing items.
  • Operate a cash register and process customer transactions accurately and efficiently.
  • Stock shelves and display areas with baked goods and other products.
  • Perform general cleaning duties, including sweeping, mopping floors, and cleaning equipment.
  • Assist with inventory management, including receiving and stocking shipments.
  • Participate in ongoing training and development to improve skills and knowledge.
Requirements:
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • 7 months to less than 1 year of experience in a retail or bakery environment.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 23 kg (50 lbs) and stand for extended periods.
  • Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including evenings and weekends.
