We are seeking a highly skilled Infrastructure Systems Administrator to join our IT team at the City of Kamloops. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for implementing, managing, and maintaining various aspects of our infrastructure, including servers, storage, Exchange, Active Directory, Microsoft 365, VMWare, and physical, virtual, and cloud/hybrid environments.
Key Responsibilities- Manage and maintain our IT infrastructure, including servers, storage, and network systems.
- Implement and administer security measures to protect our systems and data.
- Collaborate with our IT team to resolve technical issues and improve system performance.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Provide technical support and training to our staff on IT-related issues.
- Completion of a Computer Science or Computer Engineering degree or an equivalent degree.
- A combination of a diploma in a Computer Science related field and Infrastructure or Network Certifications (covering data management and security, cloud computing, networking, and/or Microsoft backend platforms) and 5 years Tier 3 recent experience in a combination of Infrastructure and Network.
- Minimum two years previous experience in managing VMWare, Windows Server Administration, and Active Directory and Office 365 Administration.
