Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Business Intelligence Analyst to join our team at the Ontario Teachers Insurance Plan. As a Business Intelligence Analyst, you will play a key role in supporting our business solutions initiatives, leveraging business data to drive continuous improvement and efficiencies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with Business Stakeholders: Work closely with business stakeholders to identify high-value opportunities for the application of business intelligence and emerging technologies.
  • Develop Business Solutions: Collaborate with a team of analysts to devise strategies, alternatives, and recommendations for effective delivery of business solutions that meet stakeholder needs, leveraging business intelligence and emerging technologies.
  • Provide Analytical Support: Support cross-functional stakeholders by providing analytical support and recommendations through the design, build, and operationalization of business intelligence and emerging technologies.
  • Build Strong Relationships: Build strong internal customer relationships with colleagues, key stakeholders, and business leaders to proactively understand strategic objectives within all areas of the business.
  • Present Insights: Synthesize large amounts of data to identify key trends and present the results in a logical and concise manner effectively to stakeholders.
  • Support Data Analysis: Support the analysis and ongoing continuous improvement of datasets, including connection points across all channels.
  • Contribute to Organizational Effectiveness: Contribute to organizational effectiveness through the development, analysis, and implementation of business intelligence and emerging technologies initiatives.
  • Stay Up-to-Date: Actively seek out external benchmarks and best practices to improve our competitive advantage.
Requirements
  • Education: A university degree, college diploma, or certification in a related field with knowledge of best practices employed by the IIBA and BABOK.
  • Experience: 3+ years of experience in business analysis or a related field.
  • Technical Skills: Advanced knowledge of MS reporting tools or equivalent BI reporting suites, understanding of JSON, Python, API, and Webhooks considered an asset.
  • Soft Skills: Proven ability to coach and mentor on technical solutions, excellent oral and written communication, presentation, facilitation, and influencing skills.
  • Process Certification: Process-related certification or designation or commitment to complete Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen.
  • Technical Knowledge: Knowledge of SQL or any database query language, excellent organization, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Microsoft Certifications: Microsoft certifications considered an asset: Power Platform Fundamentals, MS Power BI.
