About the Team

The Robinhood Security Cryptography and IAM Platform team is responsible for developing and maintaining cryptographic services and libraries that power Robinhood's infrastructure key management and data encryption. Additionally, this team creates engineering solutions and advisory services for workforce IAM enablement across Robinhood's custom systems and services. We are focused on improving developer user experience for our cryptographic tools as well as developing paved paths for cryptographic and authentication across the Robinhood organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop large-scale systems within the team, making strategic tradeoffs for risk and long-term maintainability.
  • Develop technical solutions with high engineering rigor, ensuring scalability, performance, and security.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver large-scope technical quality projects.
  • Mentor and coach junior engineers to raise the bar of the team.
  • Partner with management to improve team performance and build out a high-functioning engineering team.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10+ years of experience working in the Software Engineering space, with a passion for security.
  • Strong architecture and design skills, with expertise in cloud-native platforms and container orchestration technologies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work well within a team and across engineering teams.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with authentication and authorization protocols/frameworks (OpenID Connect, OAuth, etc.).
  • Experience working with key management systems or data encryption.
