We are seeking a Casual Renal Technician at Royal Inland Hospital in Kamloops, BC.
Work Schedule:
Rotating shifts, including days, evenings, and weekends.
Job Responsibilities:
In accordance with established vision and values of Interior Health, this position will set-up, operate, monitor, test, dismantle, and clean dialysis related equipment for patient treatments following established procedures. As necessary, provides general patient care activities under nursing supervision according to unit demands.
Typical duties include:
• Preparing dialysis equipment and supplies for patient treatment by performing duties such as attaching tubing, calibrating and checking alarms, setting monitors and dialysate flow rates.
• Disassembling, cleaning, and reassembling dialysis equipment.
• Assisting with mobilization and preparation of patients for dialysis, including transporting/escorting patients, assisting with weigh-in at scales, moving equipment/support aides, and taking blood pressures and pulse.
• Monitoring and adjusting equipment during dialysis under the direction of nursing and/or medical staff.
