About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Massage Therapist to join our team at Homewood Health, a leading provider of mental health and addiction services. As a Massage Therapist, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality care to our clients and patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough assessments of patients' physical conditions, needs, and preferences to tailor massage sessions
  • Perform a range of massage techniques, including Swedish, deep tissue, myofascial release, active release, and cranial sacral therapy
  • Collaborate with physiotherapy, osteopathy, family physicians, nurse practitioners, and other healthcare professionals to ensure a comprehensive approach to patient care
  • Monitor patient progress, adjust treatment plans as needed
  • Maintain accurate records and document treatment in patients' charts according to HHC policies and the clinical documentation standards of the CMTO
  • Provide massage therapy to patients across various Homewood programs, with dedicated hours in the Integrated Pain Service
  • Offer massage therapy to Homewood clinical staff working on-site
  • Contribute to a positive and supportive clinic environment, promoting a culture of compassion, understanding, and empathy for patients living with mental health challenges and chronic pain
Requirements
  • Registration and membership in good standing with the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario (CMTO)
  • New graduates welcome
  • Experience treating patients with musculoskeletal injuries and chronic pain an asset
  • Interest in the intersection between massage therapy and mental health
  • Empathy, compassion, and a patient-centric approach to care, emphasizing the importance of the mind-body connection in the treatment of pain
  • Proven organizational skills and the ability to manage a diverse caseload efficiently
  • Registered provider with Veteran's Affairs and Green Shield an asset
  • Ability to direct bill for services through TELUS eClaims, Medavie Blue Cross, and providerConnect
