About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Co-op Student to join our Transportation Planning team in Edmonton. As a key member of our team, you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects, including master plans, traffic impact studies, parking studies, and more.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the assessment of transportation, traffic, and parking conditions
  • Analyze transportation data and assist in traffic, active mode, and transit analysis
  • Apply best practice engineering principles and undertake engineering calculations, analyses, and studies as required for the design and implementation of transportation, transit, and traffic projects
  • Prepare graphics, technical memos, and reports to communicate technical results and recommendations
  • Conduct field studies, including site visits, inventories, transit, traffic, and parking counts
Requirements
  • Enrolled in a Civil/Transportation Engineering Degree or Transportation Planning Program
  • Experience in or the willingness to learn AutoCAD, Synchro, SimTraffic, and Microsoft Office
  • Experience with or the willingness to learn Synchro, Vissim, Aimsun, EMME, and ARC GIS
  • Knowledge of local, provincial, and TAC design procedures/guidelines and standards
  • Exposure to field work, such as site visits and traffic surveys
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Dedicated team player
  • Valid AB driver's license
