Data Analyst Role
Ocado Intelligent Automation is a technology-led, global software and robotics business providing global customers with Ocado's world-leading MHE and our unique operational knowledge.
We are seeking a Data Analyst to join our OIA team, to help drive understanding and actionable observations into the performance associated with our business, operations, and customers.
The ideal candidate has worked in a fast-paced environment, is able to take on responsibilities with minimal supervision, and is hyper-focused on collecting and analyzing data to improve business outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and organize data from various sources to ensure accuracy and reliability.
- Analyze large datasets to uncover trends, patterns, and insights that drive business performance.
- Develop and maintain dashboards and reports using various reporting tools to visualize data and communicate findings effectively.
- Conduct ad-hoc analysis to address specific business questions and provide actionable recommendations.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and track performance against targets to identify areas for improvement.
- Know a range of presentation/visualization tools and select the most appropriate method for the problem.
- Understand the underlying business domain and establish connections between different processes and systems.
Communication & Knowledge Sharing
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business objectives and identify data-driven solutions.
- Transform insights gained from business or data analysis into storytelling presentations using accessible language and clearly addressing the stakeholder needs. Highlight the risks/implications of acting on the analysis provided.
- Independently produce and present impactful visualizations that are clear and to the point.
- Train and support team members on data analysis techniques and tools.
- Provide data analysis that answers the business problem even if this is beyond the original question.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in data analysis or a similar role.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex datasets and extract meaningful insights.
- Proficiency in SQL and Python/R for data manipulation and analysis.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to present findings and recommendations to stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and organization skills.
Bonus Skills
- Previous experience in robotics, manufacturing, or distribution.
- Experience with Data Studio.
- Experience with warehouse automation and/or robotics.
