Job Title: Developmental Support Worker Awake Nights

Empower Simcoe is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Developmental Support Worker to join our team as a Specialized Resource Coordinator Awake Nights. This role requires providing quality support to high-need individuals residing in our Treatment Home and Specialized Resource locations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide daily support for individuals in their homes and community, respecting their independent choices and abilities.
  • Assess individuals' needs and develop plans to support essential life skills, such as meal preparation, budgeting, communication, self-care, community participation, and employment.
  • Collaborate with the Supervisor to ensure documentation and interactions with Ministry representatives are completed.
  • Participate in team meetings to provide input and clarification on plans and protocols.
  • Administer medications and document dispensing in accordance with Agency policies and procedures.
  • Foster independence and actively participate in planning for individuals and their families.
Requirements:
  • Post-Secondary Degree or Diploma in Social Services or a closely related field from an accredited college.
  • Registered Behavioural Technician certificate is an asset.
  • Minimum one year recent full-time work experience supporting hard-to-serve adults with complex care needs in community residential settings.
  • Experience supporting people with behaviour management techniques is an asset.
  • Demonstrated ability to respond calmly in crisis situations through approved verbal de-escalation and physical intervention techniques.
