As part of our dynamic team, you will play a vital role in achieving this goal by performing imaging examinations in mammography and bone density modalities that meet the established standards of the department and the College of Medical Radiation and Imaging Technologists of Ontario (CMRITO).

This position supports the hospital's academic mandate by advancing care through teaching and learning and/or transforming care through research and innovation. You will be responsible for:

  • Performing all breast imaging and bone density examinations as required, and all other duties as requested by supervisory personnel
  • Implementing proper procedures for patients, employees, and visitors regarding health, safety, and radiation protection
  • Assuming operational responsibility when on shift
  • Assisting the Radiologist when required
  • FOLLOWING PROPER PROCEDURES FOR CARE OF EQUIPMENT, IMAGING ROOMS AND SUPPLIES
  • Adhering to established policies and procedures of the Department of Medical Imaging at North York General Hospital

To succeed in this role, you must have:

  • Current registration with the CMRITO
  • Minimum 2 years of current experience as a Breast Imaging Technologist
  • Completion of the following CAMRT courses: Breast Imaging 1, Breast Imaging 2, Imaging Breast Pathology and Bring Your Position Upfront: Breast Positioning Virtual Lecture
  • Completed certificate (or commitment to complete) in Breast Imaging-Diagnostic
  • Experience in Bone Mineral Density is preferred
  • Current CBMD certification with the OAR is an asset
  • Basic computer skills i.e. Microsoft office, Excel, etc
  • BCLS certification is an asset
  • Post-graduate experience in a hospital setting is preferred
  • Membership with CAMRT is recommended
  • Bilingualism in English/French is an asset

We offer a highly competitive total compensation package which includes pay in lieu of benefits, vacation pay and the opportunity to join the Hospital Pension Plan. The estimated annual salary for this position is $85,000-$110,000 CAD based on the location and industry standards.
