About the Role:

The Account Manager has overall responsibility for all accounts assigned within a geographic area to grow profit for Univar's market share using consultative selling process.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Proactively plan customer visits 1-2 weeks in advance to maximize sales opportunities.
  • Call on established and prospective customers to sell company products and services, focusing on growing our industrial footprint within Saskatoon and surrounding areas.
  • Arrange frequent joint calls with Univar and Supplier Technical Service Specialists to ensure seamless delivery of products and services.
  • Maintain a high-integrity sampling program for key customers to build trust and loyalty.
  • Co-ordinate with Customer Service and Operations to maintain customer service levels and ensure resolution of complaints in a timely manner.
  • Co-ordinate with Purchasing department to ensure availability of product and minimize stockouts.
  • Utilize CRM to manage customer information during all planning phases and make data-driven decisions.
  • Out of town travel is expected, estimated at 3-4 nights per month.
  • Other tasks as assigned by management.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or college diploma in a related field (e.g. Business Administration, Chemistry or similar).
  • Minimum 3 years of previous outside sales (B2B) and/or customer facing experience.
  • Chemical sales experience is an asset, but not required.
  • Effective and engaging communication skills, with the ability to relate to and communicate with individuals at all levels.
  • Recognize and monitor market conditions, trends, and competitor activities to stay ahead of the competition.
  • Working knowledge of CRM & Tableau for Data Analytics is an asset, but not required.
  • Self-motivated and eager mentality, with a passion for sales and customer satisfaction.
