Job Summary:

As a skilled Industrial Mechanic at the Health Sciences Centre, you will be responsible for the installation, testing, analysis, maintenance, and repair of complex equipment in hospital buildings and building services. This role requires a high level of technical expertise and problem-solving skills to ensure the efficient operation of our facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Installation, testing, and analysis of mechanical equipment, including heating and ventilating systems, fans, pumps, and other complex systems.
  • Maintenance and repair of building services equipment, including plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems.
  • Responding to emergency calls to repair equipment and ensure minimal disruption to hospital operations.
  • Collaborating with other trades and departments to resolve complex technical issues.

Requirements:

  • Five years of experience in a variety of facets of maintenance, including building services, building equipment, and departmental equipment.
  • Previous experience in a healthcare facility is an asset.
  • Certificate of qualification as a Journeyman Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) Manitoba/Interprovincial required.
  • Journeyman Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) Manitoba/Interprovincial certification required.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.

Working Conditions:

  • Heavy lifting, bending, and working in elevated places on various pieces of equipment.
  • Ability to work in confined spaces and enclosures.
