Job Title: Technical Analyst

We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Analyst to join our team at Finance Professionals Inc. as a key member of our digital accessibility team. The successful candidate will have a strong background in digital accessibility standards and inclusive design principles, with a proven track record of driving accessibility initiatives forward.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and document accessibility standards and policies to ensure compliance with digital accessibility standards
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide technical leadership and guidance on digital accessibility
  • Mentor and collaborate with other accessibility, design, and usability specialists to drive inclusive design principles
  • Be recognized as a subject matter expert on digital accessibility and user interface experiences, staying up-to-date with industry trends and best practices
  • Develop and continually evolve accessibility testing processes, methodology, tools, and criteria to ensure high-quality accessibility solutions
  • Explore capabilities of digital platforms and identify strategic opportunities to drive accessibility forward
  • Provide strategic direction, training, expertise, and feedback to build accessibility knowledge and capacity within various teams across the Bank
  • Leverage insights gathered through participation in usability testing with people with disabilities to refine best practices and methodologies
Requirements:
  • 5-8 years of practical digital accessibility experience, with demonstrated knowledge of digital accessibility standards and inclusive design principles
  • 5+ years of experience with frontend technologies, including limitations and constraints, as it relates to digital accessibility for mobile and responsive web applications
  • 5+ years of experience with disability-related issues with respect to digital accessibility, assistive technology, including screen readers, print magnification software, and alternative input systems
  • 5+ years of experience with accessibility testing techniques using automated and manual testing procedures
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bilingual in Spanish
Soft Skills:
  • Proven ability to effectively communicate the complexities and opportunities of accessibility and inclusive design to technical and non-technical audiences
  • Strong understanding of usability and user interface design principles
  • Strong relationship-building and influencing skills
  • Self-driven, with ability to take ownership and accountability, and work in a self-guided manner to drive inclusive design principles
  • Comfortable working within tight timeframes and working creatively and strategically within specific constraints
  • A fast learner with an appetite to learn what's behind both simple and complex financial solutions
  • Adaptability and flexibility
Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field, digital design, or related field, or equivalent working experience
  • CPACC general or web certification an asset
