About the Role:
As the Manager, Supply Planning at Arc'teryx, you will play a critical role in optimizing factory capacity utilization, overseeing vendor performance management, and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the buy plan is delivered. You will lead a team of high-level planners who are responsible for the development and on-time delivery of the supply plan to warehouse.
Key Responsibilities:
- Building, coaching, and guiding a high-performing team of contract factory planners who partner with Sourcing & Production Management teams to successfully deliver our product range from factory allocation to warehouse.
- Developing a team of problem solvers who translate buy plan requirements into optimized and executable production plans that effectively support service level objectives and reduce total supply chain costs.
- Managing the workload of the team to balance factory complexities, seasonal volume, individual strengths, and career development.
- Collaborating with the Sourcing team to develop and maintain multi-year capacity plans for all manufacturers and maintaining healthy capacity utilization rates.
- Collaborating closely with Merchandise Planning & Allocations teams to develop a procurement strategy for all global product categories, reconciling the supply chain constraints against the buy plan.
- Partnering with Merchandise Planning & Allocations to support inventory goals and objectives without compromising service levels, including Open to Buy tracking and other relevant inventory initiatives.
- Leading efforts to evolve and refine supply planning processes, implementing changes that drive continuous improvement and operational efficiency.
- Developing and standardizing role-specific processes and best practices to ensure consistency and efficiency in supply planning activities.
- Implementing and managing change initiatives effectively, ensuring smooth transitions and adoption of new processes within the team.
- Maintaining an in-depth knowledge of all factories and related processes to provide guidance and leadership to individual planners.
- Leading high performance against department KPIs, continuously evolving current metrics and developing new ones as the business requires.
- Continuously developing bench strength through development and maintenance of departmental SOPs, training documents, and performance management.
- Upholding Fair Labor Association's Workplace Code of Conduct and Principles of Fair Labor and Responsible Sourcing throughout the Arc'teryx supply chain.
- Working closely with the Amer Sports Global Sourcing Vendor Sustainability team on quarterly business reviews and training/capacity building.
- Adhering to negotiated lead times and balanced annual capacities to expedite responsible purchasing practices as outlined in the Responsible Sourcing Policy.
Future Opportunities:
- Deconstructing and rethinking the supply planning processes in alignment with the vision of our vertical business.
- Diving deep into our internal and external workflows and working with several cross-functional teams to inspire shared goals for stronger partnerships.
- Working with Senior Manager, Supply Planning and the Sourcing department on other supply planning improvements and optimization initiatives as they arise.
- Working closely with Raw Materials and Merchandise Planning teams on strategies that leverage agility through our Sourcing streams.
- Working closely with external vendors to identify and develop flexible buying options that support our vertical business objectives.
Requirements:
- 5+ years' experience in Supply Planning or equivalent Supply Chain position, preferably in Apparel or outdoor industry, including 3+ years of leadership experience.
- Bachelor's degree in related field.
- Certifications in American Production and Inventory Control Society (APICS), a Supply Chain Management Professional (SCMP) designation, or a project management designation.
- Strong SAP and Excel skills to manage data, generate insights, and enhance supply planning efficiency.
- Proven people management skills and the ability to lead, train, and mentor individuals.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, and an ability to relate to all levels of stakeholders.
- Comfortable with a high growth environment and addressing ambiguity with positivity.
- Strong attention to detail and comfortable working with high volumes of data.
- Proactive in identifying the root cause of issues and developing solutions.
- Highly flexible and adaptable when faced with ambiguity.
- Able to balance autonomy and collaboration.
- Inspires breakthrough thinking and continuous improvement.
- Seeks the best (but sometimes not the easiest) solutions, with an unwavering commitment.
- Passion for work paralleled by passion for getting outside and living it.
Compensation:
A reasonable estimate of the pay range is CAD$104,000 - CAD$130,000 at the time of this posting. Within the range, individual pay is determined by factors such as job-related skills, relevant experience, education, and/or training.
