Sales Representative

As a Sales Representative for The North West Company, you will play a key role in securing new orders from existing and new customers. You will be responsible for developing and executing marketing plans and initiatives based on consumer, demographic, and sales market data, as well as feedback from the field.
About the Role:
This is a dynamic and challenging role that requires strong communication and interpersonal skills. You will be responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with various customer groups to support the business needs. You will also be responsible for selling a wide breadth of products, including food, general merchandise, and motorsports.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with various customer groups to support the business needs;
- Sell a wide breadth of products, including food, general merchandise, and motorsports;
- Solicit new and existing customers for orders;
- Contact pre-existing and new customers for potential orders;
- Set sales targets and develop plans to achieve those targets;
- Participate in the management of assortment, pricing, promotions, communications, selling channels, and the interpretation of customer research;
- Ensure The North West Company is competitive in both market price and product assortment;
- Run monthly sales reports;
- Attend various meetings, conferences, and tradeshow events across Canada;
- Actively participate in community events, meetings, and gatherings to establish a presence and understand local needs and challenges to ensure strong customer relationships while overseeing territory management.
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years' sales experience background;
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook;
- Proven ability to develop and maintain positive customer relationships;
- Solid organizational, planning, and prioritizing skills;
- Ability to manage multiple projects, tasks, and assignments;
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills;
- Must be able to work flexible hours when required;
- Great customer service skills;
- Ability to excel in a team environment while working well independently;
- Must be willing and able to travel to urban centres and remote northern Canadian markets as required (up to 40 days per year).
