The Department of Psychiatry at Island Health has an exciting opportunity for a Psychiatrist to join our team on Salt Spring Island. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will provide psychiatric services to adults in the community, including consultation for patients admitted to Lady Minto Hospital and outpatient treatment at Salt Spring Island Community Services.

About the Role

This full-time position includes:

  • Consultation for patients admitted to the 19-bed Lady Minto Hospital
  • Outpatient treatment at Salt Spring Island Community Services, providing consultation to Severe and Chronically Mentally Ill, Urgent Short Term Assessment and Treatment, and Drug and Alcohol programs working with case managers
  • General Psychiatry services to adults in the community working with an inter-disciplinary team

You will have the opportunity to work closely with healthcare professionals and build strong relationships with patients in a small community setting.

What We Offer

We offer a competitive salary range of $ $400,000 - $600,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications. Additionally, you may be eligible for additional remuneration through the Rural Subsidiary Agreement (RSA), which includes:

  • Recruitment Incentive: up to a maximum of $10,000 (pro-rated based on FTE)
  • Relocation: up to a maximum of $15,000 (amount based on location relocating from)
  • Flat fee: $12,721.72
  • Fee Premium: 7.98%
  • CME: $3,500/annum year 3-4 and $6,000/annum after 4 years in the community
