Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Plumbing/Maintenance Worker to join our team at Fraser Health. The successful candidate will perform a variety of maintenance and repair functions related to plumbing, architectural, electrical, and mechanical equipment on buildings and equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Review work requests and consult with user departments regarding specifications and other project requirements
- Interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine materials and equipment required
- Calculate materials and labor in estimating cost of projects and make recommendations as required
- Prepare for work projects by arranging work schedule with user departments and assembling supplies, tools, and equipment
- Install, troubleshoot, maintain, modify, monitor, inspect, test, repair, and replace pipe and plumbing systems, medical gas systems, natural gas piping systems, appliances, equipment, and accessories
- Perform scheduled and demand maintenance on building installations, electrical and mechanical repairs on buildings, equipment, and appliances
- Maintain and adjust all domestic water systems and related equipment
- Maintain, construct, and repair building fabric such as walls, roofs, doors, and windows, floors, ceilings
- Maintain relative preventative maintenance program inspection reports, records, and documentation
- Maintain an inventory of supplies, equipment, and tools, complete related reports and records, recommend, and purchase related equipment and supplies
Requirements
- Certificate of Apprenticeship or Trades Qualification Certificate as a journeyman Plumber
- Class B level Gas Fitter's License with an electrical endorsement recognized by the Province of BC
- Valid Certificate of Competency as a Cross Connection Control Specialist issued by the American Water Works Association, British Columbia Section
- Two years' recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience

- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications
