Nursing Unit Assistant Position at UBC Hospital

Vancouver Coastal Health is seeking a skilled Nursing Unit Assistant to join the team at UBC Hospital in Vancouver, BC. As a key member of the healthcare team, you will provide essential clerical and receptionist support to ensure the smooth delivery of client care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform a variety of clerical duties, including transcribing and processing physicians' orders, communicating with other departments and hospitals, and arranging client tests and receiving results.
- Provide receptionist support, including receiving visitors and answering the telephone, and prioritizing requests.
- Assemble and maintain client charts, arrange for client admissions and discharges, and perform timekeeping functions.
- Type and distribute technical and non-technical reports and other materials utilizing computer systems and software.
Qualifications:
- Grade 12, medical terminology, and graduation from a recognized Nursing Unit Clerk program.
- One year's recent, related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
