Job ResponsibilitiesThe successful candidate will be responsible for operating heavy equipment in a safe and appropriate manner. This includes digging trenches, fine grading, and loading trucks. The individual will also be responsible for cleaning, maintaining, and securing all equipment as directed by legislation, policies, and procedures.
The Pipe Layer will play a crucial role in the successful completion of Hazelwood Construction projects. This individual will be involved in every phase of the construction process and will be responsible for such things as pipe-laying, compaction equipment operation and maintenance, site preparation, and excavation.
RequirementsTo be considered for this position, you must have:
- 3+ years of position-related experience.
- Previous civil experience is considered an asset.
- Ability to properly read and understand blueprints.
- Ability to operate required equipment in a safe and responsible manner.
- Effective verbal communication skills.
- Active listening skills are considered essential.
- Ability to work as a team as well as with little supervision.
- Ability to take and follow instructions.
- Professional and courteous demeanor when dealing with the public.

Union rates apply, and all benefits are provided through the International Union of Operating Engineers, Local 115.
CompensationThe hourly rate for this position is $34-$37.76, depending on experience and education. Vacation pay is 13% of your hourly wage, and benefits eligibility is after completing 250 hours. Pension contributions are $4.80 per hour worked.
