Logistics Support Specialist

Job OverviewThis role works within Northern Plains Transport, supporting our Dispatch, Safety, Maintenance, and Operations teams through data management systems. The position requires rotating shifts, covering 7 days per week, with a 12-hour workday from 07:00 to 19:00, including a 1-hour lunch break. On-call availability with the dispatch cell phone is necessary during off-duty hours.
Key Responsibilities:- Maintenance: Monitor and update the automated Fleet Maintenance System, review Daily Vehicle Inspection Reports, and identify maintenance & repair items reported by drivers.
- Safety - HS&E: Monitor and update the Driver Qualification System, identify non-compliance with regulatory standards using the Driver Daily Log portal, and support drivers in maintaining compliance.
- Operations: Provide daily communication with internal and external customers, offer support and direction to driving staff, and assist the production team as needed, which may involve lifting or moving items weighing up to 20Kg.
- Dispatcher: Receive and dispatch orders from customers, prioritize deliveries based on urgency, importance, and routing, use phones or computers to dispatch drivers and equipment, monitor routes and delivery units' status, and provide real-time information about orders, traffic, weather, and highway conditions.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Proficient English language skills (oral and written), with the ability to communicate in Bengali, Tagalog, or Hindi an asset;
- Proven experience as a petroleum dispatcher or similar position within the trucking industry;
- Experience working with transportation software applications, specifically Motive, Office Track, and Carriers Edge;
- Tech-savvy with the ability to learn third-party data systems;
- Understanding of equipment maintenance terminology and maintenance requirements;
- Accurate typing, experience in data entry, and attention to detail;
- Outstanding organizational skills;
- Ability to multitask and manage multiple priorities effectively;
- Active listening, excellent communication skills;
- Sound judgment, critical thinking;
- Self-motivation, and teamwork.
