Life Enrichment Assistant

Verve Senior Living is seeking a dynamic and creative individual to join our team as a Life Enrichment Assistant. In this role, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of our residents by planning and leading engaging programs that enhance their physical, cognitive, emotional, social, and spiritual well-being.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan and direct activities that meet the diverse needs of our residents, including leisure, social, and recreation programs.
  • Communicate with residents, staff, families, and the community to promote participation in programs and ensure resident needs are met.
  • Lead and promote resident awareness and participation in programs, while maintaining a positive image of the residence.
  • Assist in the maintenance of department records, including attendance, assessments, and evaluations of planned programs.
  • Participate in the annual CanFitPro Exercise program to carry out proper exercise classes for seniors.
Requirements:
  • Minimum of grade 12 education required.
  • Prior experience in recreation programming for a senior population is preferred.
  • Diploma or degree from a recognized post-secondary institution in the field of Recreation, Physical Education, and/or Gerontology is considered an asset.
  • Certified in Emergency First Aid, and CPR required.
  • Excellent leadership skills and ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Proven computer literacy in Microsoft Office Suite and adaptability to handle database programs.
