Join our team at Transat A.T Inc. as a Senior Manager Labor Relations and Negotiations. We are seeking a highly skilled professional to lead our labor relations efforts and negotiate collective agreements for our entire organization.
About the RoleAs a Senior Manager Labor Relations and Negotiations, you will be responsible for fostering positive and cooperative relationships with management and union partners. You will also coordinate preparatory work for negotiations, participate in negotiation sessions, and assist in drafting collective agreements.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement labor relations strategies to minimize risks for the organization
- Coordinate with the team to prepare for negotiations and participate in negotiation sessions
- Assist in drafting collective agreements and provide support to the Chief People, Sustainability and Communications Officer
- Conduct research and analysis to develop orientations, objectives, and mandate requests
- Consult with managers, executives, and the human resources team to obtain negotiations mandates
- Implement an effective governance structure and grievance management to minimize risks for the organization
- Assist labor relations team members and attorneys/legal counsel in certain litigation cases
We are looking for a candidate with a Bachelor's degree in industrial relations, business administration, or a relevant field of study. A minimum of 15 years of experience in labor relations, negotiations, and legal affairs, including 10 years in supervisory or management roles, is required. Strong skills in writing and communication are essential, as well as knowledge of the Canada Labour Code and experience with Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service.
