Under the direction of the Supervisor/Designate, this position is responsible for providing cataloguing and technical systems support for the day-to-day operations of the department.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Cataloguing library materials according to professional standards
  • Providing technical support for maintaining the integrated library system functions of the Board
  • May provide in-school support to Teacher-Librarians with cataloguing and library management
Requirements:
  • Two (2) year Diploma in Library and Information Technology from a recognized college/university
  • Three (3) years relevant experience
  • Proficient in the use of Board provided computer-based technologies to create, manipulate, store and retrieve information, and communicate with others
  • Valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle
  • Expert knowledge of Canadian Subject Headings (CSH), Dewey Decimal System, Anglo-American Cataloguing Rules (AACR2R), Sears List of Subject Headings, and MARC bibliographic and authorities format
  • Evidence from previous work history of satisfactory attendance and punctuality
