Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Psychology Technician to join our team at St.Amant, supporting our Jordan's Principle initiative. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will work closely with clients, caregivers, and other clinicians to provide high-quality behavioral interventions and support services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the provision of behavioral assessments and interventions to identify client needs and develop effective treatment plans.
  • Collaborate with the Behavior Analyst and Psychologist to develop and implement behavioral treatment programs, including direct, consultative, and mediated models of practice.
  • Conduct behavioral treatment sessions under the supervision of the Behavior Analyst and teach care providers to do the same.
  • Work with clients in the most appropriate and normalized settings, assisting in the collection and processing of behavioral assessment information.
  • Assist in reviewing behavioral assessment results and implications for development of effective behavioral intervention plans.
  • Contribute to written reports and other documentation as appropriate, ensuring accurate and timely data entry, graphing of data, and/or scoring of assessment data.
  • Support others to function as effective team members and to achieve consensual decisions.
  • Provide general training sessions to St.Amant staff and/or other relevant groups as approved by the Coordinator.
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Arts or Science degree in Psychology from a recognized university with course work in Applied Behaviour Analysis.
  • Familiarity with psychometric testing procedures.
  • Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism for a minimum of two years.
  • Strong computer capabilities with current software applications, Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Power Point.
  • Knowledge of Internet, Email, computerized calendars.
  • Experience with record keeping and filing systems.
  • Current knowledge of theory and practice of Applied Behaviour Analysis.
  • Knowledgeable about contemporary practices in assessment, treatment, and training in the areas of developmental disabilities and autism.
  • Knowledge of the structure of social, health and educational services within Manitoba.
  • Ability to work effectively with staff, clients, caregivers, families, other agencies and other clinicians, and to work harmoniously with others.
  • Ability to understand, support and practice interdisciplinary teamwork in order to provide services in the clinical, educational or living environment of the person with a developmental disability or autism.
  • Knowledge of direct, mediated, and consultative models of practice and ability to apply these according to program protocol.
  • Ability to prioritize, structure, and manage scheduling caseload(s) effectively to achieve targeted outcomes.
  • Ability to identify high risk situations and respond appropriately.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Proficiency in both official languages (French/English) would be considered an asset.

Working Conditions

Clinicians working with the Jordan's Principle program are required to travel to various locations across Manitoba. Some of these locations are in remote communities. If staying overnight in a remote community is required, Clinicians would be eligible for travel incentives.

As a condition of employment, successful candidates will be required to provide a satisfactory Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening, Adult Abuse Registry Check, and a Child Abuse Registry Check and Prior Contact Check. The successful candidate will be responsible for any service charges incurred.

As a Condition of Employment, new hires must complete a series of Occupational Health checks. This includes the requirement to confirm immunization or immunity of specific communicable diseases. Successful applicants will also be required to provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination prior to start date.
