Role Summary

The Server role at Dominion Bar + Kitchen is a key position in delivering exceptional customer experiences. As a Server, you will be responsible for guiding guests through the menu, answering questions, making recommendations, and ensuring that every meal is memorable and unique.

Key Accountabilities

  • Provide exceptional customer service by guiding guests through the menu, answering questions, and making recommendations.
  • Ensure that all guests benefit from current promotions and menu items.
  • Assist host or hostess by answering phones, taking reservations, and greeting guests.
  • Assist in the training and development of new employees when required.
  • Maintain a positive attitude that promotes teamwork within the restaurant.
  • Perform various guest services, including taking orders, serving food and beverages, and collecting payments.
  • Check with guests to ensure that they are enjoying their meals and take action to correct any problems.
  • Check guests' identification to ensure that they meet minimum age requirements for consumption of alcoholic beverages.
  • Clean tables or counters after guests have finished dining.
  • Stock service areas with supplies and perform cleaning duties as assigned.

Education & Experience

  • Previous serving experience is preferred but not necessary.
  • Must be Serving it Right and Food Safe Level 1 certified or be willing to become certified.
  • Must be eligible to work in Canada.

  • Well-groomed, friendly, and polite, with good eye contact and a great first impression.
  • Able to communicate well with a wide variety of people and adapt tone to build rapport.
  • Outgoing and confident, with the ability to promote items and services.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and work productively with others.
  • Team player with a strong initiative and ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Strong customer service skills and ability to exceed guest expectations.
