Role Summary

The Commi Chef reports directly to the Sous Chef and Head Chef at Dominion Bar + Kitchen. This role involves cooking and preparing a variety of food products, including meats, seafood, poultry, vegetables, sauces, stocks, breads, and other food products using a range of equipment and techniques according to kitchen protocol and standards.

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare meals in a timely manner in accordance with hotel kitchen recipes and assembly manuals and charts.
- Maintain a daily prep sheet to indicate levels on hand and amounts required.
- Clean and organize the kitchen at all times, following required checklists, logs, and cleaning schedules during and following their shift.
- Ensure the proper care and maintenance of all food service equipment, identifying equipment needs for food preparation and service.
- Maintain high levels of cleanliness, organization, and sanitation of the kitchen, strictly following food safety standards.
- Promote teamwork within the hotel with a positive attitude.
- Perform other duties as assigned and directed by the Sous Chef and Head Chef.

Requirements

- High school diploma
- Level 1 Food safe certification
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a professional kitchen
- Eligibility to work in Canada

- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Customer service skills, with the ability to exceed guest expectations.

- Strong initiative and ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Positive and team-oriented attitude.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds.
