We're seeking a highly skilled Senior Java Developer to join our dynamic Technology team, playing a key role in shaping the future of travel technology.

About the Role:

This Senior Java Developer position is a critical part of our team, responsible for driving mission-critical projects with direct impact on the evolution of Priceline's business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive mission-critical projects with direct impact on the evolution of Priceline's business.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional agile teams to continuously experiment, iterate, and deliver on new product objectives.
  • Showcase fluency and development skills of Core Java or similar programming languages.
  • Lead, mentor, and guide less experienced developers in best practices.
  • Apply programming skills towards building low-latency and high-throughput transactional services with continuous integration and automation testing.
  • Implement SQL composition skills that collect and query data for investigation and analysis in real-time from our applications.
  • Demonstrate the ability to quickly apply experience to understand our codebase, systems, and business requirements to effectively make changes to our application.
  • Influence and communicate team development efforts, influencing what the best solutions are and communicating findings to key business stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in software engineering and development.
  • Exceptional coding experience with Core Java or similar programming languages.
  • An interest in being a mentor and influencing best practices with less experienced developers.
  • Strong grasp of SQL composition skills for composing queries and analysis.
  • Confident with the utilization of Spring Frameworks, Web Services, and APIs.
  • Established and proven expertise with server-side JavaScript and Node.js, influence of Git and Gitflow.
  • Experience with developing on Cloud, especially GCP and AWS.
  • Experience in Microservices, Kubernetes (GKE preferable), and Docker.
  • Proven ability in design and architecture of complex, highly scalable, and performance-driven applications.
  • Experience working in the Flights industry is desirable.
  • Demonstrated history of living the values important to Priceline: Customer, Innovation, Team, Accountability, and Trust. Unquestionable integrity and ethics.

When we return to the office, we will be in a fully flex mode, meaning you decide when to come to the office when it makes sense for you to do so - no minimum number of days in the office. Until then, we are all working from home and will return to our flex mode when it is safe to do so.
