Compensation Package

$85,000 - $110,000 per annum, depending on experience

About the Role

As a Veterinary Oncologist, you will play a critical role in diagnosing and treating complex diseases and conditions in animals.

Your Key Responsibilities

  1. Diagnosis and Treatment

You will diagnose diseases or abnormal conditions in individual animals, herds and flocks through physical examinations or laboratory tests. You will also treat sick or injured animals by prescribing medication, setting bones, dressing wounds or performing surgery.

Clinical Expertise

With your extensive knowledge of animal medicine, you will advise clients on feeding, housing, behaviour, breeding, hygiene and general care of animals.

Examinations and Procedures

You will perform routine, emergency and post-mortem examinations to ensure the highest standard of care for our patients.

Work Environment and Requirements

This is a full-time permanent position, requiring a combination of sitting, standing, walking, bending, crouching, and kneeling. You must be able to lift up to 23 kg (50 lbs) and work in a fast-paced environment.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in medicine, dentistry, veterinary medicine, or optometry
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to distinguish between colours
  • Manual dexterity, attention to detail, and hand-eye co-ordination

Security Clearance and Work Conditions

A criminal record check is required for this position. You must also be comfortable working in a physically demanding environment with repetitive tasks and under pressure.
