About the Role

Fruiticana is seeking a skilled Butcher to join our team. As a Butcher, you will be responsible for cutting, trimming, and preparing standard cuts of meat, as well as wrapping and packaging prepared meats.

Key Responsibilities
  • Cut carcasses, sides, and quarters to prepare meat for sale
  • Cut, trim, and prepare standard cuts of meat to meet customer demands
  • Wrap and package prepared meats to ensure freshness and quality
  • Remove bones from meat to create boneless cuts
  • Cut poultry into parts to meet customer needs
  • Clean and prepare fish and shellfish to ensure food safety
  • Slice cooked meats to create deli-style cuts
  • Prepare special displays of meats, poultry, and fish products to attract customers
  • Shape, lace, and tie roasts, other meats, poultry, and seafood to create visually appealing products
  • Prepare special orders to meet customer requests
Work Environment

Fruiticana is a fast-paced retail environment that requires a combination of sitting, standing, and walking. As a Butcher, you will need to be physically demanding and able to work in a team environment.

Requirements
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in a related field
  • Attention to detail and ability to work accurately
  • Team player with excellent communication skills
