Job Title: Nation Building Project Manager

About Deloitte

At Deloitte, we strive to inspire and help our people, organization, communities, and country thrive. We foster a culture of well-being and connectedness through flexible, proactive, and practical benefits.

About Nation Building

We are committed to advancing truth and reconciliation by empowering First Nations, Métis, and Inuit (FNMI) Nations in their journey toward economic independence and self-governance through our Nation Building advisory practice. Guided by an FNMI-led approach, we act as integrators, facilitators, and trusted advisors, partnering with Indigenous communities, non-Indigenous governments, and corporate Canada to drive meaningful and lasting change.

Our work with Indigenous Nations focuses on identifying opportunities to enhance administrative and business efficiency. As a Nation Building Project Manager, you will oversee the successful delivery of initiatives that support Indigenous communities, organizations, and their partners to achieve their long-term vision.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as the main point of contact for clients, managing relationships, ensuring alignment with client priorities, and keeping projects on track.
  • Manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously, leading cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality outcomes.
  • Oversee current-state assessments, strategic planning, and the development of deliverables such as governance frameworks, operational strategies, and transformation roadmaps.
  • Demonstrate expertise in governance, strategy, operations, and organizational transformation to support community-led priorities.
  • Lead, mentor, and guide junior staff, fostering collaboration and ensuring alignment across teams.
  • Manage up by providing structured updates, feedback, and clear timelines to senior leaders, ensuring projects stay on track.
  • Resolve challenges, prioritize tasks, and uphold quality standards across all deliverables, acting as the final reviewer before submission to leadership or clients.
  • Support business development efforts, including preparing proposals, project plans, and pricing strategies to grow the Nation Building practice.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • 7+ years of experience in management consulting and public policy, including managing complex projects and leading cross-functional teams.
  • Deep experience working with Indigenous communities, including a strong understanding of governance structures, cultural values, traditions, and social dynamics.
  • Expertise in qualitative and quantitative research approaches within an Indigenous context, strategy development, and organizational change management.
  • Proven leadership capabilities, with the ability to navigate ambiguity, manage competing priorities, and maintain high standards of quality across multiple projects.
  • Experience in business development, including preparing proposals, project plans, and pricing strategies to drive growth.
Total Rewards Package

Deloitte's Total Rewards Package extends well beyond traditional compensation and benefit programs and is designed to recognize employee contributions, encourage personal wellness, and support firm growth. We offer a salary range of $120,000 - $150,000 per year, depending on experience.

About Our Commitment to Reconciliation

We commit to fostering a relationship of respect, collaboration, and stewardship with Indigenous communities in our shared goal of reconciliation and environmental sustainability.
