Research Scientist — Biophysical Characterization and Developability Expert

We are seeking an experienced Research Scientist to join our team at AbCellera, a global leader in antibody-based medicines. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in advancing our pipeline of innovative therapies.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct in-depth characterization of antibodies, multispecifics, and antibody-drug conjugates using advanced analytical and biophysical techniques.
- Assess the developability properties of lead molecules, including formulation, stability, and colloidal stability.
- Analyze and interpret complex data sets to nominate lead candidate molecules for clinical development.
- Provide scientific leadership and mentorship to junior scientists within our dynamic team.
- Develop and implement new workflows for analytical and biophysical screening of antibody properties.
- PhD in Biophysics, Biochemistry, or Structural Biology, or a MSc degree plus 5+ years of relevant experience.
- Hands-on experience with analytical SEC, HIC, IEX, light scattering, CE-SDS, cIEF, DSF, DSC, mass spectrometry, or related techniques.
- Experience applying analytical techniques to assess protein sample quality and developability of biotherapeutics.
- Strong understanding of protein sequence and structure, as well as common modifications and physical and chemical stability risks.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively as a member of a cross-functional team.
AbCellera offers a competitive salary range of CAD $75,200 - $94,000 annually, commensurate with your education and job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. In addition to base salary, we offer equity, annual bonus dependent on team and company performance, and a 6% (non-match) RRSP contribution. You will also have access to a CAD $1,500 annual Active Lifestyle Allowance, annual vacation, and company-wide office closures.
