MCAP Group of Companies is seeking a highly skilled Senior Underwriter Full Case to join our team. As a Senior Underwriter Full Case, you will be responsible for underwriting, processing, and approving mortgage applications from various sources, including brokers, direct, and third-party sources from all MCAP brands.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Review and verify information on mortgage applications to ensure accuracy and compliance with company guidelines and external lender guidelines.
  • Build and maintain relationships with referral sources to ensure volume, asset quality, and profitability targets are met.
  • Adjudicate information presented and address any discrepancies or inconsistencies.
  • Document deals and write up rationale to support recommendations for approval.
  • Deliver quick and creative mortgage solutions to structure files in accordance with company guidelines.
Requirements:
  • 3-5 years of underwriting and documentation experience.
  • Knowledge of real estate and covenant assessments, legislation, and land title systems in all provinces.
  • Knowledge of legislation regarding risk-related mortgage law.
  • Proficient in Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Ability to negotiate effectively with intermediaries.
  • Ability to understand financial statements and assess financial viability.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven ability to foster relationships.
  • Self-driven, motivated, with the ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • University Degree/College Diploma, preferable.
  • Accredited Mortgage Professional (AMP).
  • Completion of Mortgage Agent course to satisfy provincial regulatory requirements.
  • Completion of internal audit's credit adjudication process.
  • Bilingual French and English is a must-have.
