About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Archaeologist to join our team at AECOM, providing expert support in report writing and laboratory services for our cultural resources projects. As an Archaeologist, you will play a key role in contributing to the composition of reports, data management, cultural material processing and analysis, and administration.

Key Responsibilities
  • Report Composition: Contribute to the development of high-quality reports, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Data Management: Manage and maintain accurate and up-to-date records of cultural resources data, including artifacts and site information.
  • Cultural Material Processing and Analysis: Conduct thorough analysis of cultural materials, including artifacts and other historical items, to inform report writing and project outcomes.
  • Administration: Provide administrative support to the team, including coordination of logistics and management of project deliverables.
Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Cultural Resources, Heritage, Anthropology, or a related field.
  • Experience: 2 years of relevant experience in an archaeological lab or in archaeological report writing.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Ontario MCM's Standards and Guidelines: Familiarity with the Ontario MCM's Standards and Guidelines for Consultant Archaeologists.
  • Logistics Coordination: Demonstrated ability to coordinate logistics for multiple field teams.
  • Field Data Management: Experience with field effort tracking, including collection and management of all field data.
  • Project Management: Must support the management of projects from the proposal phase to report completion, including coordination of multidisciplinary teams to successfully execute project deliverables.
  • Heritage Planning: Basic knowledge of the heritage planning process, including the identification of built heritage or cultural heritage landscapes.
  • Archaeological Excavations: Additional experience in the field conducting archaeological excavations.
  • Research and Writing Skills: Well-demonstrated research and writing skills.
  • Health and Safety: Demonstrated dedication to following and promoting a strong health and safety culture.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and communication skills.
  • Attention to Detail: Attention to detail.
  • Teamwork: Ability to work as part of a team and independently.
  • Learning and Development: Dedication to learning required laboratory skills under the direction of management.
