Job Title: Food Service Attendant

Mackenzie Health is seeking a skilled Food Service Attendant to join our team in the Food and Nutrition Services department.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will provide support to the department by completing food service and sanitation tasks, including cleaning patient and service dishes, food preparation for patients, and general departmental cleaning.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure a clean and safe environment for patients and staff by adhering to food safety and sanitation procedures.
  • Prepare and serve food to patients in accordance with standardized recipes and production sheets.
  • Assist with food preparation, including cooking, reheating, and plating.
  • Maintain a high level of customer service by being attentive to patient needs and preferences.
  • Collaborate with the food services team to ensure efficient and effective food service operations.
Requirements:
  • Current and valid Food Safety Proton Certificate from Public Health.
  • Ability to lift heavy boxes and push loaded food carts.
  • Strong command of the English Language.
  • Ability to read and follow standardized recipes and production sheets.
  • Ability to understand therapeutic diets.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Previous experience in a hospital setting.
