About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused individual to join our team as a Sales & Service Representative (SSR) in our branch. As a key member of our sales team, you will be responsible for driving profitable sales growth and delivering exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers to understand their needs and preferences.
  • Sell a diversified line of products, promoting Private Brands, Technical Services, and ecommerce channels.
  • Contribute to branch profitability and product Gross Margin through proactive improvement initiatives.
  • Process customer orders accurately and efficiently, ensuring prompt delivery.
  • Maintain a thorough knowledge of products sold, completing required training programs.
  • Promote Company products and services to customers, providing substitutions as needed.
  • Adhere to the 5S program and contribute to branch cleanliness and maintenance.
  • Maintain knowledge and ensure compliance with safety policies and procedures, including Occupational Health & Safety Act, WHMIS, and Transportation of Dangerous Goods Act.
  • Support warehouse functions as required and take emergency customer calls after hours, if necessary.
Preferred Qualifications

We are looking for candidates with:

  • A minimum of 1-2 years previous customer service experience.
  • A strong work ethic and personal commitment to delivering exceptional service.
  • Demonstrated focus on building strong relationships with customers.
  • Excellent interpersonal, problem-solving, and customer service skills.
  • Strong communication skills, able to convey messages clearly and effectively.
  • A self-starter, taking action to achieve goals beyond expectations.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills, with proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Proficient computer skills and aptitude.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license and reliable vehicle (if driving required).
Work Environment

This role requires:

  • Daily interaction with team members, managers, customers, and local sellers.
  • Work in a fast-paced, changing environment with moderate noise levels and frequent distractions.
  • Significant standing and walking, with occasional lifting up to 50 pounds, and heavier loads with assistance.
  • Regular use of computer, keyboard, and mouse.
Working Relationships

This role involves:

  • Partnering with customers, vendors, and contractors.
  • Fostering open communication between internal business partners, including Sales, Contact Centers, Distribution Centre, EH&S, and On-Site Services teams.
  • Supporting the sales team through upselling, service, pricing, delivery, and inventory inquiries.
  • Contributing to building strong community relationships.
