Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Senior Business Application Manager to lead our North American team. As a key member of our business services delivery team, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of business applications and services, providing leadership, direction, and coaching to Business System Analysts, and driving service delivery excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate with senior management and IT teams to ensure alignment and prompt resolution of urgent priorities;
- Communicate effectively with various levels of management and stakeholders, providing exceptional customer service;
- Oversee the performance, availability, capacity, change, and major incident management of mission-critical business applications and services;
- Develop tactical/operational plans to enable projects, operational initiatives, and systems support, working closely with the Project Management Office;
- Recruit, mentor, and manage a high-performing team, partnering with the Business Applications Director to build innovative, engaged, and successful teams;
- Provide oversight, career development, and supervisory functions for direct reports;
- Maintain a positive working environment aligned with our core values;
- Lead operational and corporate projects in line with our corporate project management methodology;
- Ensure successful delivery of quality solutions meeting stakeholder expectations;
- Build and manage effective customer and vendor relationships by understanding related business strategy, operational goals, and managing expectations;
- Support and mentor Business System Analysts in aligning workflow, implementing technology and process best practices, and increasing efficiencies across all functional areas of the business;
- Work closely with key stakeholders to identify reporting and application solutions;
- Provide leadership in writing functional specifications to address application bugs and minor enhancements;
- Manage operational support documentation and user guides for support provided to the business or other parts of IT;
- Analyze implications of requested new or enhanced application functionality and provide feedback;
- Facilitate delivery of all production system updates through the change management process;
Qualification Requirements
- Degree or diploma in computer science or a related program;
- 5+ years of direct leadership experience managing application support teams through business analysis, resource management, hiring, performance reviews, time management, and training plans;
- Demonstrated experience managing cross-functional projects, enterprise-level service delivery, and operational initiatives;
- Demonstrated strengths in negotiation, budgeting, planning, organizing, and delegating;
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including superior critical thinking skills and decision-making confidence;
- Exceptional interpersonal skills coupled with strong verbal and written communication and demonstrated commitment to customer experience;
- Strong presentation skills, including the ability to present technical material to audiences with varying degrees of technical competence;
- Valid Class 5 Driver's License with a 5-year driving record satisfactory to Civeo's driving criteria;
- Property Management, Hospitality industry, or Retail industry experience preferred but not mandatory;
- Some software development exposure or experience (please highlight);
- ERP experience is an asset;
- Excellent verbal & written communication skills;
- Demonstrated project management skills;
- Advanced analytical skills in gathering system requirements, logical data & process modeling, use case modeling, work flow modeling;
- Self-starter and highly motivated to achieve results;
- Propensity to innovate and challenge the status quo;
- Maturity of judgment and on-demand decision making to resolve problems without delay and/or to seek support when required;
- Demonstrated organization, time management, and multi-tasking skills;
- Detail oriented, but also able to view a big picture and understand strategic context;
- Proficient in MS Office products;
- Ability to juggle multiple projects & tasks and prioritize and deliver results in the face of competing business interests;
- Business acumen – ability to quickly grasp how a process works and leverage that knowledge to drive business results;
- Ability to build relationships quickly and lead a team to common goals;
Salary Range
$120,000 - $150,000 per year, depending on experience.
