Job Summary

CB Canada is seeking a highly skilled Tech Lead - Mainframe Specialist to join our team. As a Tech Lead, you will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of mainframe-based solutions for our clients in the financial industry.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the analysis, development, and evolution of mainframe-based products and solutions
  • Ensure the quality and security of mainframe-based solutions
  • Develop and implement best practices and processes for mainframe development
  • Lead multiple teams and ensure collaboration with other teams, partners, and stakeholders
  • Make technical decisions and take ownership of their implementation
  • Coach teams in the application of mainframe technologies and development methodologies
  • Identify and prioritize projects that combine business and technology
  • Develop and implement mainframe-based solutions, applying best practices in development, data, and security
  • Define development methodologies, patterns, and technology choices and share them with teams
  • Work with business partners and architects to understand business intentions and objectives
  • Ensure automation of testing (e.g., pyramids of tests, TDD, BDD, etc.) and take ownership of quality
  • Analyze and resolve major incidents and lead in the resolution of complex problems
  • Represent teams to stakeholders, including senior management and external partners
  • Stay up-to-date with technological trends and development practices and act as a mentor to development teams
  • Establish and document technical solutions and practices to ensure product longevity

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of experience in a similar role
  • Mainframe (ZOS) - Cobol - environment CICS - DB IDMS - DB2 - JCL - Easy Trieve
  • Leadership skills, with a strong sense of responsibility
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to influence teams and stakeholders to adopt best practices
  • Curiosity, willingness to learn, and ability to adapt to new situations
  • Ability to stimulate innovation and continuous learning
  • Organizational skills, rigor, and ability to manage priorities
  • Ability to anticipate problems and find proactive solutions
