Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the analysis, development, and evolution of mainframe-based products and solutions.
  • Ensure the quality and security of mainframe-based solutions.
  • Develop and implement best practices and processes for mainframe development.
  • Manage multiple teams and ensure collaboration with other teams, partners, and stakeholders.
  • Make technical decisions and take ownership of their implementation.
  • Coach teams in the application of mainframe technologies and development methodologies.
  • Identify and prioritize projects that combine business and technology strategies.
  • Develop and implement mainframe-based products, including design, coding, testing, and deployment.
  • Define development methodologies, patterns, and technology choices and share them with teams.
  • Work with business partners and architects to understand business needs and develop solutions.
  • Ensure automation of testing (e.g., pyramids, TDD, BDD) and take ownership of quality.
  • Analyze and resolve major incidents and lead the resolution of complex problems.
  • Represent teams to stakeholders and partners.
  • Stay up-to-date with technological trends and best practices and act as a mentor to development teams.
  • Document solutions and technical practices to ensure product longevity.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Mainframe (ZOS) - Cobol - CICS - DB IDMS - DB2 - JCL - Easy Trieve.
  • Leadership skills and a strong sense of responsibility.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to influence teams and stakeholders to adopt best practices.
  • Curiosity, willingness to learn, and ability to adapt to new situations.
