Gameplay Animation Outsourcing Specialist

Aquent Talent seeks a skilled Gameplay Animation Outsource Manager to oversee the delivery of high-quality animations through external partners. As a key member of our team, you will work closely with Lead Gameplay Animators to ensure seamless collaboration and reinforce quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Promote effective communication between internal teams and external partners to meet project milestones.
  • Collaborate with the Animation Director and Lead Gameplay Animators to establish animation creation best practices, processes, and goals.
  • Assist in due diligence and onboarding of new external partners, ensuring smooth project integration.
  • Facilitate issue resolution with the Production team to remove roadblocks and ensure timely completion.
  • Evaluate submitted work from external partners, guaranteeing it meets quality standards set by Animation and Technical Animation Directors and Leads.
  • Maintain up-to-date task assignments in project management tools, including estimates, time logged, and submission notes.
  • Foster strong relationships with external partners, providing regular communication and addressing concerns promptly.

Requirements:

  • At least 5 years of experience in gameplay animation production.
  • Proven track record of working with external teams and managing projects effectively.
  • Previous experience as an outsource manager in AAA game development or equivalent title.
  • Ability to travel domestically or internationally 3-4 times per year for approximately 1 week at a time.
  • Strong visual and technical understanding of gameplay animation creation steps and requirements.
  • Proficiency in Maya and Motion Builder software.
  • Experience with key frame and motion capture animation techniques.
  • Excellent knowledge of body mechanics, timing, spacing, weight, and appeal principles.
  • Self-motivated, creative problem solver, and team player with excellent communication skills.
  • Familiarity with project management tools such as Jira, Shotgrid, Confluence, Excel, etc.
  • Ability to work under deadlines, prioritize tasks, and remain self-directed.

Additional Beneficial Skills:

  • Experience working with Unreal Engine is highly desirable.

Compensation: $80,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on location and experience. This estimate is based on industry standards and regional factors.
