Carpentry Specialist

Vici Manufacturing Inc. is seeking a skilled Carpentry Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our construction team, you will be responsible for preparing estimates of labour and/or material costs, reading blueprints, and preparing layouts in conformance to building codes. You will also be responsible for measuring, cutting, shaping, assembling, and joining materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel, and other materials. Additionally, you will build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring, and erect walls and roof systems. You will also fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings, and hardware, schedule and co-ordinate work on sites, survey building locations and levels, maintain, repair, and renovate residences and wooden structures in mills, mines, hospitals, industrial plants, and other establishments. You will also organize and maintain inventory and clean work areas.
Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: This role requires working in a fast-paced environment with repetitive tasks, attention to detail, hand-eye co-ordination, and the ability to distinguish between colours. You will also be required to stand for extended periods and lift up to 23 kg (50 lbs).

You will be required to work 40 to 42.5 hours per week and will be part of a team that supports newcomers and refugees, offers on-the-job training tailored to youth, and develops and maintains relationships with indigenous communities, indigenous-owned businesses, and organizations.
