Senior Incident Investigator

About the Role
This is a unique opportunity to join our team as an industrial Incident Investigator, where you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety of our operations. As a member of our Loss Prevention organization, you will provide both day-to-day infield occupational and process safety support to our operations, as well as centralized technical support and consulting function.
Key Responsibilities
- Investigate industrial incidents, particularly those with high consequences, and comprehend the hazards associated with industrial facilities and their corresponding controls.
- Identify, preserve, and examine incident evidence using widely accepted forensic science principles.
- Support investigation teams by ensuring the proper understanding and utilization of investigation techniques.
- Conduct thorough investigations using appropriate investigative tools specific to the incident at hand.
- Understand incident causation and the impact of human factors.
- Develop or meticulously review all draft incident investigation reports and oversee all stages of review.
- Identify recommendations that warrant global dissemination for corporate-wide implementation.
- Create lessons learned and safety alerts/bulletins to disseminate actions aimed at preventing recurrence.
- Educate employees, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure the timely communication of lessons learned.
- Develop and review corporate safety guidance on incident investigations.
Requirements
- A Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology from an accredited institution.
- 10 years of experience investigating high-consequence (major) industrial incidents.
- A deep understanding of the various tools and techniques utilized in conducting such investigations.
- Excellent communication skills in English, capable of effectively communicating with peers and management.
- Ability to produce clear and concise oral and written reports in English.
