The Parks Operator is a vital role responsible for ensuring the day-to-day operations, maintenance and upkeep of turf, parks, trails, park facilities and amenities, waterfront and beach areas are executed to the highest standards.

Responsibilities
  • Provide grounds and landscape maintenance services (and construction as may be required) in municipality owned parks and lands including but not limited to trees, shrubs, hedges, grass, gardens.
  • Perform maintenance and repair services to signs, parking lots, sports field turf and grounds (diamond and pitches), splash pads, washrooms; construct and maintain walking trails (e.g. waterfront trail) and outdoor skating rinks; repair and inspect playground equipment; install and repair fences; install and maintain watering and irrigation systems.
  • Ensure the safe operation of grounds maintenance equipment such as lawn mowers, handheld equipment (e.g. weed trimmer, hedge trimmer, chainsaw) and vehicular equipment (e.g. loader, truck, tractor).
