Mental Health Crisis Response Nurse

We are currently seeking a skilled Registered Nurse or Registered Psychiatric Nurse to join our Mobile Integrated Crisis Response team at Fraser Health. This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals experiencing mental health and substance use challenges.
About the RoleIn this role, you will work collaboratively with police officers to respond to emergency mental health calls and provide on-site assessments, stabilization, and referrals to clients in crisis. Your expertise and compassion will be instrumental in helping individuals navigate their way back to stability and recovery.
Responsibilities- Respond to crisis situations by assessing clients' needs, coordinating responses with police and other emergency providers, and providing outreach and short-term treatment.
- Conduct mental health and risk assessments, determining lethality and urgency of intervention.
- Assess clients' needs and available services, referring them to appropriate community treatment alternatives and facilitating treatment through care planning and collaboration with community resources.
- Provide medication management, including administering medications as prescribed and educating clients about their medications.
- Collaborate with the interprofessional care team to identify issues, adjust care plans as needed, and address changes in client condition.
- Document assessments, care plans, observations, interventions, and outcomes according to practice standards and Fraser Health procedures.
- Graduation from an approved School of Nursing or Psychiatric Nursing.
- Two years recent experience providing treatment services to individuals with mental health and/or concurrent disorders.
- Current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse and/or Registered Psychiatric Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
- Valid Class 5 BC Driver's License and access to a personal vehicle with appropriate insurance coverage.
