Salary RangeThe estimated annual salary for this position is between $86,418 and $114,421 CAD, based on a 37.5-hour workweek.
About the RoleWe are seeking a qualified Mental Health Nurse Specialist to join our South Mental Health and Substance Use Team. As a key member of our team, you will provide high-quality, holistic nursing care for clients with mental health conditions and substance use disorders.
Key Responsibilities- Apply the nursing process to identify and mitigate risks to client health, promoting safety and wellness through collaborative, client-centred, strengths-based care planning.
- Provide competent and culturally safe care in a variety of settings, including diverse populations.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care, address client needs, and promote recovery-oriented and strengths-based practices.
To be successful in this role, you must have:
- A current practicing registration and authorization to practice as a Registered Nurse or Registered Psychiatric Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
- Two years recent experience providing nursing care for individuals with mental health conditions and/or substance use disorders.
- Demonstrated knowledge of mental health and substance use theory and practice, including therapeutic communication, crisis intervention, and management.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with ability to work effectively in an interdisciplinary team environment.
