Family Service Worker

Job Summary:
The Family Service Worker is a critical role within the Lac La Ronge Indian Child & Family Services Agency, responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of children by working with families to address identified risks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work collaboratively with families to develop and implement case plans that address risk factors and promote child safety and well-being.
- Provide support, counseling, and interventions to families to address identified risk factors and promote positive outcomes.
- Participate in family group conferencing, case conferences, and case planning to ensure a comprehensive understanding of family needs and develop effective solutions.
- Work closely with community resource personnel to establish services for families and ensure access to necessary resources.
- Referring families to appropriate agencies for specific needs such as counseling services, addictions treatment, child assessment, etc.
- Prepare and attend Family Services Court as required.
- Advocate and assist clients to remove barriers and promote self-sufficiency.
- Provide informational sessions regarding ICFS and The Child & Family Services Act to community resources.
- Ensure all files and documentation are up-to-date and accurate.
- Apprehend children when necessary.
Requirements:
- BSW or BISW
- Must be able to provide a recent and satisfactory Criminal Record, Child Abuse, and Driver's Abstract Clearance
