As an Educational Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with their educational program needs, including social skills, behavior skills, self-help, and personal care needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist students with their educational program needs, including social skills, behavior skills, self-help, and personal care needs.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and other support staff to develop and implement individualized plans for students.
  • Provide one-on-one and group support to students, as needed.
  • Document student progress and maintain accurate records.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge.

Requirements:

  • Post-secondary training and/or experience as an Educational Assistant.
  • Knowledge and experience with behavioral strategies.
  • Experience working one-on-one and/or in group settings.
  • Knowledge of documentation procedures and proficiency with computers.
  • Knowledge and experience in alternate communication strategies.
  • Experience assisting students with self-help and personal care needs.
  • Familiarity with strategies to address different learning styles and experience with Individual Program Plans.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Relative experience in educational assistance, nursing, and/or rehabilitation.
  • SIVA and/or Non-Violent Crisis Intervention training.
