Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Quality Assurance Specialist to join our team at CAE. The successful candidate will be responsible for collaborating with suppliers to ensure the quality of their products and materials, monitoring supplier performance, and supporting efforts to develop and implement changes to improve the production process.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with suppliers to assure the quality of their products and materials
  • Monitor supplier performance and support efforts to develop and implement changes to improve the production process
  • Follow up with suppliers on quality deviations and ensure that solutions are identified and implemented
  • Manage supplier qualifications and ensure that assigned suppliers have the capability and processes to deliver high-quality products
  • Drive compliance and maturity audits to ensure that suppliers have effective process control, rigorous product acceptance standards, and robust quality systems
  • Perform risk analysis and propose mitigation plans to ensure supplier and product compliance
  • Provide technical guidance to suppliers to ensure product and process compliance with engineering drawings and specifications
  • Review design outputs, test procedures, and quality results to understand the scope, requirements, and function of products
  • Ensure products meet the organization's and customers' quality and product integrity requirements
  • Support product development teams by providing supplier assessments and conducting readiness reviews prior to launch or change

Requirements

  • Engineering degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Medical field from an accredited institution (or equivalent experience/knowledge)
  • 5-7 years of experience in quality and/or supplier quality role in a highly regulated environment
  • 5-7 years of experience working in an ISO 9001 Quality system
  • Quality Auditor Qualification preferred (ISO 9001, AS9100, ISO 13485 or comparable industry standard and regulatory requirements)
  • Ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally

Preferred Qualifications

  • Audit certification
  • Strong statistical knowledge and experience preferred; Six-sigma Black/Greenbelt preferred
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (PowerPoint, Excel)
  • Fluency in French and English
