Job Description

The Electrical Circuit Assembler Specialist will assemble cable harnesses and circuit boards within precise tolerances and timeframes while operating coding, cutting, and testing equipment. This role requires proficiency in related safety regulations, blueprint interpretation, and technical documentation. The location of this position may vary between Hammonds Plains and Halifax Stanfield International Airport, providing exposure to diverse programs from formboard to on-aircraft assemblies.

Responsibilities:

  • Manufacture and repair electrical harnesses under general supervision, using soldering, crimping, twisting, encapsulation, and testing techniques with assistance from work instructions, drawings, and technical publications.
  • Assemble complex assemblies using Production Control cards, wire assembly operation sheets, and/or other Company or customer process specifications.
  • Solder to established standards with regular requalification.
  • Operate cut & coding as well as labeling machines.
  • Fabricate cable assemblies by grouping, twisting, sleeving, potting, tying, and prepares assemblies for stores.
  • Operate automatic test equipment for acceptance testing of wire assemblies or circuit boards.
  • Manufacture/repair circuit board and component wiring with assistance from engineering drawings, technical manuals, or other directives.
  • Assist on-job-training of other electrical circuit assemblers.

Requirements and Qualifications

Candidates must possess a High School Leaving Certificate or vocational/trade school training course. Training in a mechanical/electrical field and a blueprint reading course are significant assets. To reach the top of this classification, the incumbent must have four (4) years' experience as an Electrical Circuit Assembler and completed all O.J.T. performance objectives. Additionally, incumbents must be able to pass and maintain Public Works Government Services Canada (PWGSC) and Transport Canada security clearances.
