About the Role

The Department of Aviation at Mount Royal University invites applications for the position of Assistant/Associate Professor. The successful candidate will join the Aviation team with tenure at the rank of Assistant/Associate or Full Professor, commencing as may be available, subject to final budgetary approval.

The successful candidate will be required to teach courses in the aviation diploma program and the Business Aviation Management degree program, including:

  • Aviation Strategic Management
  • Aviation Environmental Social Governance and Corporate Ethics
  • Airport Management
  • Human Factors and Aviation Safety
  • Air Cargo Supply Chain Logistics
  • Aeronautics, Industry and Flight Operations
  • Advanced Operations, GPS and Crew Coordination
  • Aircraft Engines
  • Technology and Aircraft Systems

The successful candidate's responsibilities will include curriculum development and participating in activities that promote student success and the advancement of the profession of aviation.

Qualifications

The successful candidate must have a Master's degree with a PhD preferred (preferably in the field of Aviation), and have:

  • excellent interpersonal skills
  • demonstrated involvement and experience in the aviation and business community
  • experience in post-secondary education
  • expertise in program and course development
  • an interest in research and understanding of data literacy
  • a strong understanding of EDIA, indigenization and decolonization

It will also be considered beneficial if candidates hold, or have held, an Airline Transport Pilot Licence, or Commercial Pilot Licence, Group 1 Instrument Rating and a Flight Instructor Rating.

Salary: $75,795 - $115,578 per annum
